The Porch at Agora Galleries is a shop on Magazine Street that specializes in home furnishings and accessories. 4 years ago, I worked with them to redesign their logo. This was the existing logo:
The client wanted a new look with a classic feel, evocative of antiques and restored furnishings. The one thing they wanted to keep, however, was the color scheme: a minty green and a medium brown.
I found this antique plaque vector illustration and built two slightly different variations with it.
The runner up was this concept:
It’s lightly distressed and incorporates a sans-serif font, Trebuchet, with a drop outline. But in the end, the client felt this version was a little too rough looking and decided to go with this, the final version:
The plaque is not distressed and the font, High Tower Text, is a serif font that feels a little more formal.
I also designed business card for The Porch, which I will feature in a post down the road.
